Shreeraama Raama Raama - English

 Shreeraama Raama Raama

Shreeraama is the avataara purusha in Indian religious and spritual beliefs. He is the ideal person in Treta Yuga, when already the adharma or indiscipline is 25% in the world. There is a practice of writing his name 10 million times or one crore times. But it is also believed that writing or uttering Shreeraama Raama Raama is equal to uttering raama alone 1000 times. So I want to take this shorter version to write shreeraama one crore times on my blog. But I shall take a different route to it. I want to write each portion in a different language.

Writing 100 times

21 April 2015

At the time of its release, the National Steel Policy 2005 had envisaged steel production to reach 110 million tonnes (mt) by 2019-20. However, based on the assessment of the current ongoing projects, both in greenfield and brownfield, the Working Group on Steel for the 12th Five Year Plan has projected that domestic crude steel capacity in the county is likely to be 140 mt by 2016-17 and has the potential to reach 149 mt if all requirements are adequately met.

The National Steel Policy 2005 is currently being reviewed keeping in mind the rapid developments in the domestic steel industry (both on the supply and demand sides) as well as the stable growth of the Indian economy since the release of the Policy in 2005.

11 January 2020 Food Processing  Industry  11 am to 1 pm

2021

India’s Food processing sector has experienced a tremendous boom over the years and is the sixth largest food processor in the world.

Based on a
report by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Exports Development Authority (APEDA), “Food processing industry accounts for 32 per cent of the country’s total food market”.

With the government’s focus and a favourable policy ecosystem, the food processing sector has been growing at an Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) of 8.4 % between 2014-18.

The Indian food industry’s output is expected to reach USD 535 Bn by 2025-26.

Currently, our country consumes USD 370 billion of food items and this figure is expected to increase over the decade.

The rate of agricultural export growth over the past decade is the highest in comparison to other countries
(According to APEDA, export of processed food products in India rose to USD 197 million from USD 190 million last year.)

Productivity Issues of Food Processing Sector Processes

Inspection Technology

In the Indian food processing sector, traditional production processes are being followed where the quality of agricultural and food products is being inspected by human evaluators. This manual inspection is time-consuming, labor intensive and prone to human error. To lessen the impact of these
issues, computerized inspection of these products must be implemented.

Transportation Issues

Perishable food items must be shipped with proper packaging to avoid breakages and damages during
transportation. Also, timely delivery is important to avoid spoilage – certain food items do not last long even if stored in climate-controlled facilities.

Storage Constraints

The absence and inadequacy of infrastructure facilities to store raw materials lowers the quality and
availability of the end product.

In warehouses, problems arise due to scarcity of space and how commodities are optimally stored in that space.

Product damages are another problem faced in warehouses.

Cold storage for frozen food is a massive sub-industry in and of itself.

With ever-evolving food trends there are growing varieties of ready-to-eat food, beverages, processed frozen fruit and vegetable products, marine and meat products and so on – many of these items require specialized storage environments.

The lack of availability of these types of facilities pose a major constraint for the food processing sector.

India annually produces 205 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables. The processing percentage is  only 4.6%. while  the USA (65%), China (23%) and Philippines (78%) process lot more. About 35% of the fruits and vegetables are wasted annually due to poor storage facilities, amounting to a revenue loss of Rs 500 billion. , 80% of the vegetables rot due to lack of processing facilities, resulting in a revenue loss of Rs 125 billion.

The above statement points out to need for additional storage facilities and processing facilities in India.

Food Processing
Sector Details - 2011 - 12

The food processing sector comprises of three segments based on the levels of processing
 Primary processing of food
Primary processing of food comprises of sorting, grading and packaging of fruits and vegetables, milk, rice, spices, etc.

 Secondary Processing of Food
Secondary processing of food comprises of re-shaping of food for ease of consumption. It includes flour, oil cakes, tea leaf and beverages powder etc. Together with primary processing, the two segments constitute around 62% of the processed foods in value terms.

 Tertiary Processing of Food (or) Value Added Food Segment
Value added food segment includes processed fruits and vegetables, juices, jam & jelly etc and holds around 38 % share in the total processed food market.

The Indian food processing industry is valued at approx. ` 78,094 crore for the year 2011-
12. The industry is still in its nascent stage and contributes only 1.49% to the total Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) of the economy. It has been accorded the status of priority
sector by the Government of India. The industry has shown  Compounded
Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.4% during the period 2006-07 to 2011-12.

The industry employed more than 1.3 crore workers directly and about 3.5 crore indirectly in 2008-09.

Garden Gym Equipment came early in the discussion. There is scope to install it in each village and in each school. The garden gym is attracting the attention of even old ladies and they are using the equipment to keep fit. Hence, a nation wide movement will increase fitness of people of India and will also help in developing manufacturing in this industry.

India fitness equipment market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 15% during 2017-2023. The fitness industry in India has been valued at approximately Rs 2,900 crore .

Increasing number of gyms and health clubs coupled with government efforts towards promoting physical fitness are driving the growth of the fitness equipment market in India. In terms of market sub-segments, treadmills and stationary bikes emerged as the most preferred cardiovascular training equipment in 2016, however, on account of higher calorie burn ratio, elliptical cross trainers are expected to register higher growth over the coming years.

Among different end-user applications, gyms and health clubs bagged the highest revenue share in the overall India fitness equipment market share followed by commercial applications. In-house fitness centers and health clubs are gaining popularity in the fitness equipment market. Hotels, offices, public corporations, and educational institutes are offering gym facilities within their premises.

Chemical Industry in India  - 2015

Indian chemical industry has grown over 20 times in the last 17 years. But , there is a great scope for further expansion.  As per the FICCI Knowledge Paper of 2014, per capita consumption of chemicals in India is much lower than the western countries.   The current low per capita consumption (~10 kgs
for polymers in India as compared to world average of 25 kgs) suggests that the
demand  will grow in future. The industry was valued only at $ 144 billion in FY 14. The industry has grown drastically in the bulk-commodity space. But in the specialty chemicals space , similar growth has not taken place.

According to Planning Commission, India’s share in export of global chemicals is less than 2 per cent.

It is evident that the future of India's chemical industry will be dominated by specialty chemicals. McKinsey India projects that the sector has the potential to grow to a size of $ 100 billion in 2020, from $ 22 billion in FY 13. Total chemical industry in India will grow to $200 billion in 2020.

40 percent of India’s agricultural produce perishes because of the lack of proper packaging. Chemical industry can provide packaging solutions that  can reduce loss of produce during transport, enhance shelf life, manage-moisture, from the farm to kitchen.

The chemical industry typically grows one and half to two times of the GDP, which would mean a rate of 15 to 20 percent during the period India grows at 8 to 10% per year.

CII has established ‘ChemSource’ as India’s novel chemicals database ready to feed information into India’s National Chemicals Inventory and carrying forward the industry mandate on Green Chemistry that seeks to produce eco-friendly chemicals through sustainable means with minimal waste and optimum output.

Companies in India produce more than 70,000 commercial chemicals products with total production in 2013-14 of almost 20 million metric tonnes.
