Already people are discussing 2019 parliament elections. One commentator writes, it will be difficult for BJP to repeat the performance of 2014 elections in the face of anti incumbency. Therefore, it is imperative for it to expand in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal. It has to control rent seekers and deliver the performance to satisfy the exaggerated expectations of the people who voted for BJP.

Neelam Sanjiva Reddy - Biography
Neelam Sanjiva Reddy was born on 19 May 1913.
He had a long political career as member of Congress, held several key offices, that included the posts of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Speaker of the Lok Sabha and President of India. He is also the only person to be elected to the office of the President of India unopposed.
Reddy was born in Illur village in the present day Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. He had his primary education at the High School run by Theosophical Society Adyar, Madras. He joined the Government Arts College at Anantapur, then an affiliate of the University of Madras for his higher studies.
Reddy joined the freedom struggle following Mahatma Gandhi's visit to Anantapur in July 1929. In 1931, Reddy gave up his studies to become an active participant in the nationalist struggle. He was closely associated with the Youth League and participated in a student satyagraha. In 1938, Reddy was elected Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Provincial Congress Committee and he held that office for 10 years. During the Quit India Movement, he was imprisoned and he was in jail many times between 1940 to 1945.
Reddy was elected to the Madras Legislative Assembly in 1946 and became the Secretary of the Madras Congress Legislature Party. He was also a Member of the Indian Constituent Assembly which framed the Constitution of India. From April 1949 till April 1951, he served as the Minister for Prohibition, Housing and Forests of the then Madras State.
In 1951 he was elected President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee. When the Andhra State was formed the following year, T. Prakasam became its Chief Minister and Sanjeeva Reddy the Deputy Chief Minister. When the state of Andhra Pradesh came into being by incorporating Telengana with Andhra State, Sanjeeva Reddy became its first Chief Minister serving from November 1956 to January 1960. He was Chief Minister for a second time from March 1962 to February 1964. Reddy was MLA from Sri Kalahasti and Dhone respectively during his stints as Chief Minister during this period. The Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam multipurpose river valley projects were initiated during Reddy's tenure as Chief Minister. In 2005, the government of Andhra Pradesh renamed the Srisailam project as the Neelam Sanjiva Reddy Sagar in his honour. Reddy first term as Chief Minister ended in 1960 after he resigned as Chief Minister on being elected President of the Indian National Congress while in 1964 he resigned voluntarily following adverse remarks made against the Government of Andhra Pradesh by the Supreme Court in the Bus Routes Nationalisation case.
Reddy was elected President of the Indian National Congress thrice consecutively at its Bangalore, Bhavnagar and Patna sessions from 1960 to 1962. At the Congress session at Goa in 1962, Reddy's speech stating India's determination to end the Chinese occupation of Indian territory and the irrevocable nature of the liberation of Goa was enthusiastically received by attendees. As ar Rajya Sabha member, from June, 1964 Reddy became Union Minister of Steel and Mines in the Lal Bahadur Shastri government. He also served as Union Minister from January 1966 to March 1967 in Indira Gandhi's Cabinet.
In the general elections of 1967, Reddy was elected to the Lok Sabha from Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh. On 17 March 1967, Reddy was elected Speaker of the Fourth Lok Sabha. Upon his election as the Speaker, he resigned from the Congress Party, to underline the independence of his office.
In 1969, following the death of President Zakir Hussain, Reddy was nominated as the official candidate of Congress party. In particular he was seen as the candidate of the old guard of the Congress. The Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, was opposed to Reddy's candidacy. She asked Congress legislators to "vote according to their conscience" rather than blindly toe the Party line, in effect giving a call to support the independent candidate V V Giri. In a tightly contested election held on 16 August 1969, V V Giri emerged victorious, winning 48.01 per cent of the first preference votes and subsequently getting a majority on counting the second preference votes. In the final tally, Giri had 4,20,077 votes against the quota of 4,18,169 votes required to be elected President and Reddy 4,05,427 votes.
Subsequently, Reddy retired from active politics and moved back to Anantapur where he took to farming.[
In response to Jayaprakash Narayan's call for a Total Revolution, Reddy emerged from his political exile in 1975. In January 1977 he was made a member of the Committee of the Janata Party and in March of that year, he fought the General Election from the Nandyal constituency in Andhra Pradesh as a Janata Party candidate. He was the only Janata Party candidate to be elected from Andhra Pradesh. Reddy was unanimously elected Speaker of the Sixth Lok Sabha on 26 March 1977.
The presidential election of 1977 was necessitated by the death in office of the incumbent Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. Sanjiva Reddy was elected unopposed, the only President to be elected thus, after being unanimously supported by all political parties including the opposition Congress party. At 65, he became the youngest ever person to be elected President of India.
Barely a month into office Reddy announced, on the eve of India's thirtieth anniversary of Independence, that he would be moving out of the Rashtrapati Bhawan to a smaller accommodation and that he would be taking a 70% pay cut in solidarity with India's impoverished masses.
Following mass defections from the Janata Party and from the cabinet, Morarji Desai's 30-month old government ended in July 1979 after he handed in his resignation to President Reddy before a no-confidence motion could be tabled against his government in Parliament.
As President, Reddy appointed Charan Singh as Prime Minister following the fall of the Morarji Desai government with the condition that Singh prove his majority on the floor of the House before the end of August. Charan Singh was sworn in on 28 July 1979 but never faced Parliament to prove his majority when the President convened it on 20 August. This convention of appointing a Prime Minister in a hung House but with conditions on time to prove majority was later adopted by President R Venkataraman. After discussions, he went along with Charan Singh's advice and dissolved Lok Sabha, calling for mid term polls with Charan Singh as the caretaker prime minister. Reddy's decision was met with angry denunciations and protests by members of the Janata Party who even threatened to have him impeached.
In the elections of 1980, Indira Gandhi's party the Indian National Congress (I) was returned to power winning 351 seats in the Lok Sabha.
After his presidential term, Reddy retired to his farm in Anantapur. He died of pneumonia in Bangalore in 1996 at the age of 83. His samadhi is at Kallahalli near Bangalore. Parliament mourned Reddy's death on 11 June 1996.
Reddy authored a book, Without Fear or Favour : Reminiscences and Reflections of a President, published in 1989. In 2004, a statue of his was erected at the Secretariat in Hyderabad. The character of chief minister Mahendranath in former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao's novel, The Insider, draws on Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy's career in Andhra Pradesh and his political rivalry with Kasu Brahmananda Reddy.
The Postal Department of India released a commemorative stamp and special cover in honour of Reddy on the occasion of his birth centenary. The Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy College Of Education in Hyderabad has been named after him. As part of the centenary celebrations of his birth, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced that it will rename the Andhra Pradesh State Revenue Academy, Reddy's alma mater the Government Arts College, Anantapur and the Government Medical College, Anantapur after the former president. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar - Biography
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, was born on 13 May, 1956. He is a spiritual leader and founder of the Art of Living Foundation, which aims to relieve individual stress, societal problems, and violence. In 2009, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was named by Forbes Magazine as the fifth most powerful leader in India. It shows the contribution he has done in promoting solution to resolve the problems of many people in the country.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bangalore University.
Ravi Shankar was a disciple of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He traveled with him a lot. He was invited by Maharishi to give talks on Vedic science, arrange conferences on the Vedas and science, and set up Ayurveda centers. He was with the Maharishi at the inauguration of the first of the Golden Domes at Maharishi International University. According to him, Sudarshan Kriya, a breathing technique came to him in 1982 "like a poem, an inspiration" after a ten-day period of silence on the banks of the Bhadra River in Shimoga, state of Karnataka.
According to Ravi Shankar, every emotion has a corresponding rhythm in the breath and regulating breath could regulate emotions. After realizing Sudarshan Kriya, Ravi Shankar started sharing it with others through the Art of Living course, first held in Shimoga, Karnataka.
Shankar inspired his father and several other prominent citizens of Bangalore to found Ved Vignan Maha Vidya Peeth, an education and charitable trust, in 1981
In 1983, Shankar held the first Art of Living course in Europe in Switzerland. In 1986, he travelled to Apple Valley, California in the USA to conduct the first course to be held in North America. Shankar teaches that spirituality that he is promoting is that which enhances human values such as love, compassion and enthusiasm. It is not limited to followers of any one religion or culture. It is open to all people. He feels the spiritual bond we share as part of the human family is more important than nationality, gender, religion, profession, or other identities that separate us. The idea that World is one family (Vasudha ek Kutumbham) is being promoted by him.
In Shankar's view, "Violence-free society, disease-free body, quiver-free breath, confusion-free mind, inhibition-free intellect, trauma-free memory, and sorrow-free soul are to be the objectives of the spirituality movement.
According to him, science and spirituality are linked and compatible, both springing from the urge to know. The question, "Who am I?" leads to spirituality; the question, "What is this?" leads to science. His stated vision is to create a world free of stress and violence so that people enjoy joy on earth in this life itself. His programs are said to offer practical tools to help accomplish this. He sees breath as the link between body and mind, and a tool to relax the mind, emphasizing the importance of both meditation/spiritual practice and service to others.
Sudarshan Kriya involves "Ujjayi breathing" and "Bhastrika" in "Vajrasana" followed by rhythmic breathing in "Sukhasana". A number of medical studies on benefits of Sudarshan Kriya have been published in international peer-reviewed journals. A range of mental and physical benefits are reported in these studies, including reduced levels of stress, improved immune system, relief from anxiety and depression (mild, moderate, and severe), increased antioxidant protection, and enhanced brain function (increased mental focus, calmness and recovery from stressful stimuli), among other findings. Practitioners of Sudarshan Kriya report a state of deep relaxation while feeling rejuvenated and re-energized.
In the 1990s, Shankar initiated a number of humanitarian projects, which continue to this date under the auspices of the Art of Living Foundation and its numerous national organizations.
In 1992, he started a prison program to rehabilitate prison inmates and help them reintegrate into the mainstream. In 1997, he began the International Association for Human Values, a humanitarian organization, and its 5H program, which aims to bring sustainable development to rural areas and revive human values.[2
He is involved in interfaith dialogue and currently sits on the Board of World Religious Leaders for the Elijah Interfaith Institute. His volunteers assisted the 2004 tsunami victims, Hurricane Katrina victims, in Haiti, and many other regions of conflict and natural disaster. Through interfaith summits in 2008 and 2010, he has been engaging faith-based leaders for collective action against HIV.
The Art of Living Foundation along with UN Agencies, NGOs and civil society, launched Volunteer For a Better India (VFABI) on December 5, 2012. "Give one hour to the nation. The country has problems because good people are apathetic. Youth must take charge and Volunteer for a Better India", Shankar appealed. VFABI is involved in many activities, including protest against the 2012 Delhi gang rape case, free health camps, and voter awareness and registrations in India.
NONVIO was launched as a nation-wide movement by Shankar's foundation in March 2013 with the aim of eliminating violence. It encourages individuals to pledge one act of non-violence through different social and online media and adopt nonviolent principles in government, public health, and media.

Narendra Modi - Shivaji of Modern India
Narendra Modi is the success man of Hindutva Brigade. While the credit of nurturing the party for many years goes to Vajpayee and Advani, and the credit for making the choice of a substantial majority of citizens of India goes to Narendra Modi. He brought together the existing resources of BJP into a winning combination through his performance in Gujarat. He created a hope in the people across India, that his rule will bring prosperity to India. Parama Vaibhav Bharat is the objective of RSS. Modi as an RSS member and pracharak sings this song every day. Parama Vaibhav Bharat is the mission of RSS.
Modi became the vehicle for the development of India, which is the mission of RSS. But Hindutva became an important milestone. RSS argued that if Bharat is to avoid foreign domination once again, it has to unite the Hindus and create a feeling of nationalism in them. They chose cultural unity as an intermediate objective for it. There can be religious diversity but there has to be cultural unity.
Advani tried to explain the cultural unity to people. Modi has not spent much time in his political life as chief minister in the issues of Hindutva and cultural unity. He immersed himself in development of the state and in taking care of all Gujaratis irrespective of religion. He publicly boasted of 25% vote from Muslims in Gujarat. If he can achieve it at all-India level in the next election, Modi will be the first person from BJP to transcend the caste and religion differences in Indian elections.
Narendra Modi's Speech at Varanasi on 17 May 2014
Narendra Modi said he will concentrate on making Varanasi (Kashi) as the spiritual guru of India. Unless Kashi becomes first the national spiritual guru, India cannot become the world guru. Then he said, whenever, India is on top of spiritual thinking, its economic progress was also at peak. Hence, his emphasis on Kashi as a spiritual center, also means economic progress of Kashi and India. Thus Modi connected, spiritual progress to economic progress of India. He used the term "vaibhav" in this context. Every RSS man sings that he will work for the param vaibhavam of Bharat Mata. Modi thus brought out his vision or dream for the param vaibhav Bharat through spiritual institution development of Varanasi.

Modi Your Time Starts Now - You Have Five Years in this Game of National Development
17.5.2014
"Modi Your Time Starts Now" is the headline given by Shekhar Gupta for his article on Modi's victor in 16th Lok Sabha Elections in Indian Express.
Modi is possibly the most powerful self-made Indian leader ever. wrote, Shekhar Gupta
Of course Mahatma Gandhi was also a self made leader. But that was during the independence when leadership meant sacrifices and jails.
http://indianexpress.com/article/india/politics/modi-your-time-starts-now/
It is certainly an apt headline. Modi's real game starts now. Whether he will succeed or fail will be decided after 5 years. Indian citizens have reposed confidence in his abilities and promises and gave him a 5 year term. They will cheer him when he entertains them and shows progress and they may go on strikes when they are made unhappy but 5 years they are going be participants in this political theatre with Narendra Modi being given the role of main actor.
So, the India is eagerly awaiting the oath ceremony of Narendra Modi. It was announced that the BJP parliamentary party will meet on 20 May 2014. Then only, the date for oath taking will be announced.

AAP has formed government in New Delhi. How will it affect BJP's chance in Delhi?
During assembly elections, BJP was on a backfoot. Every body knows about it. Still they became number one party. The top BJP leaders today expressed confidence at the “Abhinandan Samroh” that the party will win all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi in the coming lok sabha polls. Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Smt. Sushma Swaraj said that no one can defeat a united BJP and the party will have to turn the tables on its rivals in the coming Lok Sabha polls. She advised that the BJP ruled MCDs should project themselves as the best governed bodies and far ahead of the Delhi government. Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, Vijay Goel, and Harshvardhan were present in the meeting and spoke.
