A 23-year old MCA student, Dhiraj Nathani, a resident of Kalakar Street in Burrabazar area from Kolkata is walking 2,000 km from Kolkata to pray for Narendra Modi at the Hanuman temple in Parwa village in Bikaneer.

BJP's Prime Minister candidate Narendra Modi's Brigade Parade Grounds rally will kickstart the saffron party's 2014 election campaign in the state. The ground could accommodate about 800,000 people BJP state unit is planning the rally carefully. BJP is making plans to half a million people. To encash Modi's humble background of being a tea-seller in early life, similar to Modi's Mumbai rally, about 50,000 tea-sellers across the state are being invited to join the rally. Also special passes for about 100,000 small traders are being given. All booth level workers are asked to attend the rally. There are about 80,000 booths. Rahul Sinha the president of the state unit is very confident about the success of the rally.

BJP Minority Morcha state president Shakil Ansari said BJP cadres will visit every Muslim household in the state in order to convince them to vote for the BJP in the parliamentary polls. They would highlight that Muslims living in BJP-ruled states such as Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat are far better off compared to those living in West Bengal.
