The Chandigarh BJP has constituted its election committee for the Lok Sabha polls. The state election committee would comprise Sanjay Tandon, Satya Pal Jain, Harmohan Dhawan, Prem Kaushik, Chandershekhar, Arun Sood, Jairam Joshi, Yash Pal Mahajan and Kamla Sharma. The committee would also have the ex-officio members Arti Mehra, Ajay Jamwal and Sunita Dhawan. Raghubir Lal Arora was appointed as parliamentary seat guardian, a concept recently introduced in the BJP. Arun Sood and Ramvir Bhatti would be the parliamentary conveners.

BJP councillor Heera Negi won as the senior deputy mayor vote and her party colleague, Davesh Moudgil, was elected as the deputy mayor. Congress won the mayor post.
