Aam Aadmi Party, the latest political party in India made a claim that its membership will reach one crore (10 million) by 26 January 2014. This raises the question what is the membership of Congress and BJP?
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) - Membership
AAP estimates that its membership will grow to one crore by end January.
Bharatiya Janata Party - BJP Membership
The General Secretary's report in that year said the total primary membership is 3 crore.
Active membership is 2.43 lakh (Active member has to enrol 25 primary members)

Already the Gujarat BJP has strong membership base of nearly 44 lakhs. Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has set the target to make at least five lakh new members so that by the time the Lok Sabha polls are declared, the State BJP would have strong base of 50 lakh members.

The state has put a target of 51 lakhs.
UPCC President Rita Bahuguna set a target of One crore primary members in UP for Congress party.

It has 10,42,000 members in 2013
YSR Congress - Andhra Pradesh
YSR Congress has a target of one crore membership.
