There are clearly two alternatives in this election. Both parties have to captured the intellectual space. It is not an election without alternatives at policy level and manifesto level. People have to read news and discuss with their friends and neighbours and then decide whom to vote this time.
Is the party in power the better choice or the challengers?
Even in case of candidates people have to question. In democracy the person whom you are sending to the house of representatives is more important than the party.
Person first - Party next. You may choose party first. But then you have to assess the candidate and the decision may change. Party may change. In the final decision, person is more important. He has to represent you for five years. He is close to you. You may be able to influence him with less effort. Party is too far.
