In India, conversion of religion has happened in the buddhist period. Significant change in worship of Gods was introduced by Adi Shankaracharya. Other gurus and philosophers introduced different methods and theories into the society. During muslim rule in many areas of India, conversions have taken place. In the subsequent British rule, conversion into Christianity has taken place. What is the present situation in the country?
While conversions into Christianity are still taking place in large numbers, resistance to conversions is increasing. Hindu community which was coerced into silence by the muslim and christian rulers are raising their voice against the problems that they are facing in their families and communities due to the conversions and the practices being advocated by the church administrators and clergy.
